Hebridean Whale Cruises

Hebridean Whale Cruises operates from Gairloch Pier in the North West Highlands of Scotland. We are open all year so you can encounter all the seasonal wildlife the Hebrides is famous for. Our survey area is huge and we are the only operators to monitor vast areas of the North Minch. As this is open to the North Atlantic we have a good reputation for the more unusual sightings of Humpback, Sei, Fin and even Sperm Whales! Regular “hat-tricks” of Minke whale, Common Dolphin and Harbour Porpoise on a single cruise.

Cruises run daily and are of 1-3hrs. From late April until Mid August we visit the Shiant Islands, the only way to get there from mainland Scotland (3hr) to see puffins. Our vessels have been custom built for maximum passenger comfort. The M.V. Kerry a traditional cruiser has a fixed canopy and retractable window side panels, so you can be protected from the wind and the rain. Orca 1 is a 11m offshore RHIB with cushioned seating, everyone is issued with full body flotation suits and visors. On shore facilities include a wildlife centre next to the Harbour Lights Cafe on Pier Rd where you can take advantage of our charts and interactive software to learn more about the marine life found in the Hebrides. With the huge map of the area we can also recommend areas to search for land and marine fauna.
