To become a WiSe accredited operator you’ll need to attend a training course with us. These are usually held just before the summer season to allow operators to attend before the busy season gets underway. Forthcoming Course Dates are available HERE.
Fees are £100.00 + VAT per attendee, based on a minimum of 15 attendees. We can offer tailor made courses for smaller groups, but cost per attendee will be higher. Contact us/nominated provider for further details.
The course is classroom based, with presentations and discussions on topics such as current marine wildlife legislation, good boat practice around wildlife, animal identification and behaviour, and specific species or habitat or habitat sensitivities pertinent to your area. Currently, full-course materials provided to attendees include: a CD with all legal and species information, including relevant Codes of Conduct, a WiSe DVD, plus a flag and two stickers for your boat. WiSe logos for use in your promotional material are included on the CD in a variety of formats. Remember, only the operator who attends the course is awarded the WiSe accreditation, not the boat or business. So if you have more than one boat skipper, you might want to consider each of them attending a course.
